Marisa Raygoza Bernal, (1978), lives and works in Tijuana, Baja California. In their work they frequently make use of found objects, cloth, weaving and embroidery as discursive resources to exalt aspects of their environment and daily life, exploring through them the network of small gestures, paths, patterns, repetitive and sequenced actions that make up the routines of daily living. They earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts at the Autonomous University of Baja California. They have been a fellow of the PECDA-BC (2013) and APROART (2017). In 2015 they won first place in the National Experimental Video Contest with their animated short “Trayectoria de una tear”, which is part of the Elias-Fontes Collection. Their most recent solo exhibitions were “Permanent press”, in the independent space I21 (Mexicali, 2019) and “A cup was broken and no one left” in 206 Contemporary Art (Tijuana, 2019). They have participated in several group exhibitions in Mexico, United States, England, Denmark, Germany, and Italy.
Marisa Raygoza Bernal, (1978), vive y trabaja en Tijuana, Baja California. En su obra frecuentemente hace uso de objetos encontrados, tela, el tejido y el bordado como recursos discursivos para exaltar aspectos de su entorno y cotidianidad, explorando a través de ellos el entramado de pequeños gestos, trayectos, patrones, acciones repetitivas y secuenciadas que conforman las rutinas del diario vivir. Estudió la Licenciatura de Artes Plásticas en la Universidad Autónoma de Baja California. Ha sido becaria del PECDA-BC (2013) y APROART (2017). En 2015 ganó el primer lugar en el Concurso Nacional de Video Experimental con su corto animado “Trayectoria de una lágrima”, el cual forma parte de la Colección Elias-Fontes. Sus más recientes exhibiciones individuales fueron “Permanent press”, en el espacio independiente I21 (Mexicali, 2019) y “Se rompió una taza y nadie se fue” en 206 arte contemporáneo (Tijuana, 2019). Ha participado en varias exhibiciones colectivas en México, Estados Unidos, Inglaterra, Dinamarca, Alemania e Italia.
