Why?
PROArtes Mexico believes arts and culture are a means of establishing a dialogue between communities from a human-centric perspective in the hope of fostering sensitive questioning before collective decisions are made. The organization was created to bolster the ability of artists to work and exchange ideas between the United States and Mexico as well as promote exemplary contemporary Mexican art internationally.
PROArtes México strives to create a space where value and equity are achieved for all creators despite belonging to nations from varied social contexts.

Past Interns
CHELSEA GUEVARA, Editorial Intern – Aquí&Allá Season 2: Bio at time of internship – Chelsea Guevara is a spoken word poet and college student studying at the University of Utah. She comes from a mixed family, Caucasian and Salvadoran, and this background fuels her writing and passion for calling attention to the stories of people with less of a platform to tell them. Her love of writing and interest in sharing and amplifying the voices of marginalized communities, especially the Latinx community, pushed her to put her focus on a major in Writing and Rhetoric Studies. For four years, she’s worked at McDonald’s and is a part-time shift manager while she studies full-time. Her senior year in high school, she got involved with slam poetry and has since been part of that writing community in Utah. Chelsea also helps coach her old slam poetry team at Copper Hills High School, does workshops with youth, and competes in venues both in and out of state.
DANI PRESCOTT, Editorial Intern – Aquí&Allá Season 2: Bio at time of internship – Dani Prescott is a graphic designer and multidisciplinary artist. She was born in Ruston, Louisiana and is now living, studying, and working in the Central Arkansas area. These experiences throughout Prescott’s life have allowed her to be versatile in her approach to various objectives, being coursework, commissions, or personal work. She is passionate in finding ways to cross graphic design with fine art and fine art with graphic design. Her work pertains to the experiences and the dynamic of her life and others’, though subjects of sports, art, cultures, and people.
AMELIA HAY, Editorial Intern – Aquí&Allá Season 1: Bio at time of internship – Amelia is an art educator and enthusiast. After graduating from Northeastern State University, she worked as a Teaching Artist and Program Assistant for Philbrook Museum of Art. Most recently, she was teaching English in China as a Peace Corps Volunteer. In her free time she likes to read, bake, and walk her two dogs. We simply could not complete all of the transcribing and translation work required to make this bilingual series come to life so quickly without some much needed help from Amelia. She began assisting us with the first episode of Aquí&Allá and we are very grateful to have her as part of the team.
